Rollover and Tables

Here is my dilemma. I need to creat a rollover state that will change the bgcolor of the table cell in which a link resides when you mouse over the link(this area is customizable to our users so now images allowed). I think that this should be possible, but I haven’t perfected the solution.

Oh yeah, the classic dilemma . . . . . I need this to work in IE and NetScape 4+.

Is it possible?
