routing through a PC

I’m studying the Windows 2000 track & I have a small network at home.
I have been trying for some time now to work out how make a router with a PC with 3 nick cards in it.
I want to creat a network with 3 segments but I’m struggling to understand the addresing & gateway confiuration for the PC that’s to be the router & the configuration that’s to be entered in each DC of each segment.
