I have a custom PC tri-booting Win98/2000/Linux Mandrake 7.2
It has A PC Chips M810LMR motherboard. (www.pcchips.com)
Recently bought a Plustek 1248U USB scanner (www.plustek.de) and installed it…
It installed and worked fine in both 98 & 2000. (It’s not compatible with Linux)
I day I boot up the machine and the scanner is not detected. On checking device manager, I discovered that “Unknown Device” is listed under USB Controllers.
I checked the USB hub properties and It is telling me it is seeing my scanner as a THIRD USB port!
I the first time it happened Iwas forced to reinstall from scratch …. and it workd fine for about 3 weeks after, ut it happened again … I do not want to have to go through that again…
Tried:
uninstalling & reinstalling scanner … USB port drivers, no success.
Help is needed – quick!
