scsi card conflict

by t.mehta . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

Many thanks for help.
I had a Pentium 200 MHz computer that had IDE drive and a SCSI card running a cd rom, tape drive and another hard drive.

Now I have upgraded to a pentium3 650 MHz with128mb RAM. I reinstalled the SCSI card in this machine and installed the two devices to run with it namely hard drive (this has all my important data) and tape drive. I seem to be have some sort of conflict that I cannot figure out. My computer supplier is less than useless.

At bootup, it keeps on jamming up and I have to start it few time before it boots up. I keep on getting message ?BIOS expand?. After a few attempts, it loads SCSI utility and boots up.
I also get lot of general protection faults and machine hangs up. Any ideas?

The SCSI card is Adaptec AHA-2940ultra/2940Ultra wide installed on a PCI slot. The motherboard is American Megatrends.

Could any one help.

Tej
