SCSI Question

I know SCSI hard drives are a lot faster than IDE, but can someone tell me whether or not they are more reliable as well?

Also, If I have an Ultra SCSI 3 hard drive, does that mean I’ll need an Ultra SCSI 3 adapter too, or will any SCSI adapter work?
