Searching PDA Solution

I have started a search to find out what PDA is the best solution for me. I would be using it mainly as my organizer, email tool and want to expand into the excel and word world of use. I would like to be able to write using the stylus and have recognition software create my document.

I have started looking at Palm, HP and Casio. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendation (good or bad).
