Serial Mouse

Installed a network card on a 486 and now the serial mouse doesn’t work. Installed a new serial port card, and the mouse gets detected, but still doesn’t work. When I look under modems, I see all the com ports and the modem, but I also see serial mouse on com 1. When I test the com ports it says com1 is busy. Win 98
