I have a computer that was given to me, it is a pentium pro, I am not sure the processor speed at this time, it is from Cambridge Computer systems. I have only 30MB ram, I installed a second small disk that I use for paging. The processor worked fine but recently I have noticed that programs load extremely slow. I have done all the basics, scandisk, defrag, remove temp files. I am running Windows 98 second edition with updates. Could it be some of the updates have caused problems rather that fix them? Is there anything else, aside from formatting and reinstalling, that I can do? I do not have the windows 98 installation cd since the machine was simply given to me by a business that did not need it anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
