slow

I have a PC that is running win98. it is in a workgroup that shares folders. when I upgrade from WP 8 to Wordprefect 10 it slows down the PC. I looked at the Cookie(fine) I looked at the temp internet files. fine. what do you think is the problem. It takes 10 minutes to print a 1 page DOC
