Sound Card Problem

by karthik_ramadas . Updated 25 years, 10 months ago

I have a Compaq Presario 4220 PC with a Crystal Semiconductor Sound card that is inbuilt on the motherboard!

I have a funny problem in that one day my speakers wouldn’t play music or any sounds all of a sudden!

So, I uninstalled the sound carddrivers and installed them all over again! That didn’t solve the problem. I also found that in the Volume Control window, there is a button for advanced properties which displays facility for adjusting the bass & treble for the speakers apart frm providing a facility for muting the PC Speaker.

I found that the PC Speaker was muted and I unchecked that without any success!

I am able to listen to music using headphones. I have tried everything from installing the sound card drivers freshly to installing Windows 95 all over again!

Nothing seems to work. Can someone please tell me what to do?
