Sound card trouble

I have a AMD K6-2 500 MHz with Windows 98 SE and 32 MB of RAM. My sound card is playing a constant sound. This is the second card i had try getting the same result. Also i tried the sound cards on other computer and they worked fine on the other machine. I tried everything on the Microsoft site with no results. What can i do?
