Sound cards with direct dig. output

by cbach1997 . Updated 24 years, 2 months ago

I am looking for a sound card that has a coaxial Dolby Digital output that I could send straight to my Marantz SR7200 receiver. I would like to have it send any and all sound, be it a Windows wav file, game sound, DVD audio, or whatever on an RCA cable. This is important, MANY sound cards claim they have digital output, but they’re actually higher voltage signals meant to go straight to speaker packages. These 5V signals can roast input cards looking for the 1V standard signals! That in technical terms is called a bad thing when your amp cost $1000 last year.

Thanks,
