sound recorder not working

I am slowly getting to what the problem is but have not figured it out. I am unable to play wav files. My sound recored will not play any wav files. It will not record. When I click on a wav it says another device is using my audio. I even rebooted and it says the same thing. My wav files will play through media player but I don’t have any sound schemes
