SPD not detected at Dimms 1,2,3 ???

I recently added 3 x128 mb dimms got a SPD not found warning. Does the Award 4.51PG Bios need to be flashed to detect the new memory. The sys board is a Biostar M6TBA with Pent II i440BX chipset. The documentation is not slear on what memory is required except that should be unbuffered. Any help would be great.
