I have one Domain Controller (Windows 2000 Server) that is formatted with NTFS.
I try to restore certain data files (i.e. Word, Excell, Access) using Backup Exec or Microsoft Backup, I notice that some (not all) of the files give access errors when I try to open them from the restored directory(i.e. file cannot be accessed, or “filename doesn’t exist).
Upon further review of the properties of each file, I find that the reported “Size on Disk” reports a much lower number (i.e. 4KB) on the origional files than do the restored files. This is the primary difference between the origional file and restored files. Does anyone know why this number might change when a file is restored and if it could be the cause of my problem?
Any help would be appreciated!!
