stack overflow problem

This error is driving me crazy and no one I’ve talked to knows what causes it or how to fix it. I keep getting this error message.

>>> Terminating thread due to a stack overflow problem. A VxD, possibly recently installed, has consumed too much stack space. Increase the setting of ‘MinSPs’ in the SYSTEM.INI or remove recently installed VxDs.<<< I don't know what VXDs are and I don't think I installed any. Lots of points for any ideas????????
