TCP/IP not functioning, Netbeui OK

Hi,
I am running WindowsME. I have lost my internet; but I can still access the LAN. I have TCP/IP and NetBeui protocols set up on the PC.
I pinged one of the other computers on the LAN and received “transmit failed. error code 10043” as a result.I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the network card and all of its protocols. has anybody a helpfull suggestion?
