TCP/IP on Home LAN

My LAN works fine with Netbuei but I am having problems with the computers seeing each other using TCP/IP. The IP addresses are using network ID 192.168.0.X with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. There was a time I could ping the addresses of either computer from the other but now ping times out. Any ideas?
