TechRepublic’s Cookies & Firewall Config

TechRepublic has proven inaccessible when I block all cookies using Symantec Desktop Firewall 2.0. This also occurs when I set the option to ask me to permit individual cookies. I went so far as to allow cookies to the TechRepublic domain/site, which I didn’t want to do, but I still couldn’t get through (ended up with a black web page). Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?
