Video:
AGP (AGP 4x) is preferred. I’ve had good performance from ATI adapters. (I have a lot of Rage 128s right now.) What are some other “reasonably priced” options that would perform well in a CAD environment? Of course, resolution and speed are the key words in this regard. But a reasonable price may be the driving factor.
Monitor:
I prefer ViewSonic monitors. I’ve had great luck with them, and the display characteristics of their “perfect flat” monitor is quite impressive. The last one I bought was the 19” PF790, and, if still available, would certainly buy some more. A good resolution (1600 x 1200) and dot pitch (0.25) combined with an attractive price and steadfast reliability make this ViewSonic a hard one to beat. However, opinions on different monitors will certainly be considered?
