Traxdata 8432 Plus CD Re-Writer

I am trying to installl the Traxdata 8432 Plus Re-Writer and am getting fatal error messages.
I have tried to have the Re-Writer as the slave on secondary IDE slot withthe original CD ROM as the master this gave me the error 0028:C1835B78 in vxd scsi1hlp(03). a collegue of mine suggested to get rid of the scsi1hlp file and try that as he had heard of this with other ROM drives but this has not worked with mine.
The PC now re-boots itself and gives the error fatal exception error 0028:000000A7
Can anyone help as this is driving me nuts !!!
