Trying to connect serial mouse to a IBM

I have this problem with a IBM PC 300 GL-62877BS:

When I connect a serial mouse to this computer, it doesn’t detect it.

I have tried everything that came to my mind, changing bios setup, installing manually the driver of serial mouse, changingcom1 configuration, even updating the bios, but none of this desperate changes worked. It most be some way to make these mouses work in the ibm pc, and it is very important to me to figure it out, because I have a lot of serial mouses in stock, and a lot of IBM computers with the same problem than this one. Perhaps is something I don’t know about IBM computers.
