Two CD drives on win98 – possible?

Installed a 2nd CD on mys system. Now, can’t access either thru windows explorer. drives are on secondary master and slave. Kenwood 62x and Teac cd-w512e. Tried using on borad controller, installed promise controller. Still can’t access from windows. Can access from Third party (Adaptec program) intermittenly. Fresh window reinstall,didn’t help.
