Two files are hanging the system on Win9

by monyhunter . Updated 25 years, 10 months ago

I work as tech support for one of the many HP sites. I have a user that uses an Omnibook 900 with win98. He uses a docking station at work and then uses the system and home to dial in via a DSL line.
When he boots his system at work he has two files that are not loading. One of them is MPREXE and the other is MSQSRV32. I was able to find info about MPREXE on technet. It stated to rename the .pwl file and then reboot and relog into the network to create a new password file. I did this and the system still hangs when loging on the network. I could not find ANY information one the MSQSRV32 file that was not responding.
If I use the end task utility and end the two files the system will hang and has to be rebooted.
Since this is win98 the user can escape past the login and use the system but he is not connected to the network.
Any help would be great!! The user runs a docked and undocked profile and has not problem unless he is logging into the network.
Thanks
