unable to asign C:

Can not find C:
I am working on a 1993 comp.with a Microsoft BCM SQ591 motherboard. I flashed CMOS to remove the password of an unknown user. now it will rec.the cd rom but won’t find drive C: with 98 start up disc it loads temp files to C: went all through CMOS and IDE HDD AUTO DECTECTION to try and load C: manualy I have tried everthing I can think of short of installing a cold HEINEKEN on the motherboard
