USB Support with Windows ME

I have an AMB 1.2 Ghz machine running Windows ME and it won’t recognize the USB port. In the device manager it show the USB controller as working properly but the USB root hub has a problem. It states the device loader (NTKERN.VXD) could not load the device driver. So naturally it won’t recognize any device attached to the USB port. I am assuming this is the root of my problem.(?) (no pun intended!)
