Using Motorola SM56 to send faxes

I have a problem with my PC using its modem (Internal Motorola SM56 Speakerphone)to send and receive a fax.
The company which sold me the PC had allready installed the appropriate drivers for using modem to get to the Internet.I took together a cd-rom with BitWare Software & Manual for Windows which they told me that can help me with the use of fax. Unfortunately this program makes only problems as my modem stopes working at all when i install it and makes the PC stopping activation. I have Windows Me. Can you help me fix this problem?
