vfbackup could not load vfd.vxd rn setup

Hi, I have a system that the customer told me she uninstalled several applications. Now when it boots the message while initializing device vfbackup: vfbackup could not load vfd.vxd. Please run setup again.
When i attempt to runsetup I get a black box in the middle of the setup screen and inside the box it says Boot Sector Write !!
Virus: Continue (y/n)?
Has anyone seen this or can you guide me through the vxd error.
