Video adapter

I have been working on a hewlert packart PC
with a 500mhz processor. The problem I believe is the video card. It will boot up but before ita starts Windows the system will crash and it not boot up again. When it does boot after that I get check video connection. This tells me that it is the video adapter. Can anybody tell me if I am right? Please E-mail me at aeton@rvi.net
