video display problems

I am building a server with a gigabyte bxd motherboard (1) pentium 650 (2) sticks 128 pc 100 ram an ati rage video card a fast track 100 ide raid card (2) ibm 15 gb drives mirrored a 3com network card and an isa modem. While trying to install nt 4.0 I try to install the video adapter and after it is restarted it says that it is install correctly but it only displays 16 bit color and 640×480 or 800×600. please help
