Video Fails on AT Motherboard

by epoe . Updated 25 years, 4 months ago

I?ve got around 400 Pentium 133/166es. Every few weeks, I get a spate of 2 or 3 computers whose video completely dies. When booting the computer, the HDD will spin up, no POST beeps, and it doesn?t sound like the computer goes into Windows. I?ve replaced the video card, other cards, power supply, BIOS, BIOS battery, processor, and RAM to no avail. I?ve pulled the motherboard out and just had it on the table with a video card, keyboard, power supply, RAM, and processor; still no video. I?ve beenfixing the problem by replacing the motherboard. The dead/dying motherboards are AOpen AP53?s and AP5VM?s. I have not had this problem with my other 550 non-Pentium 133/166es.

Can you think of why this would be happening? Can you think of any additional troubleshooting steps that I should try?

Thank you in advance.
