Virtual Desktop

Desktop.com gone – Octopus.com – weak – Visto.com gone – and on and on – is there anyone working on the true Virtual desktop. I’m currently working on pushing news and weather feeds through standard models but need to develop a more robust product that can incorporate more within the browser without having to constantly refresh the entire browser or launch new browsers to show more content. Is anyone developing such a product and can this be done without it having to be within an Intranet framework?
