The local Govt. maintained only ISP recently banned Voice over IP and stopped the dealers in this country from selling pre-paid calling cards such as Net2Phone, PhoneServe, Go2Call etc., thus depriving all the Internet common users in the entire country from using all the Internet features which is not justified. However, they say, one can use his/her credit card which is a luxury in this part of the planet and every one can not afford it. No reasons were assigned but many users presume thegovt. is losing revenue on international phone calls from this country.
What worries us is after sometime, this ISP may ban even the Emails stating that the govt. is losing revenu on postage stamp sales.
Does there any body or authority in the world who can correct this ban please? I wrote to Net2Phone, Internic, WhoIs etc., organizations but no response at all. Internet is a worldwide issue and should not have any individual country choices when this country is connected to the internet which is a global affair. We can understand for blocking several sites by firewalls in this country but not depriving the main features on today’s net. Any comments/suggestions please?
