VPN and Virtual project management

by darren . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

My corporation has recently reached the Network upgrade point. We are a small firm of about 10 full-time employees, but work on a contract to contract basis and can employ up to 25 contractors at one time – who collaborate and work internationally,- so our most important issue at this point is secure remote access. Our network is currently peer to peer, and my admin support and myself are working through the costs and ins and outs of FreeBSD and Borderware File Server Solutions with VPN Modules to enable secure remote access. My question for discussion is based on an executive request from above, in addition to secure remote access, they would like to see our Server/VPN aid us in Virtual Project Management (we use MS Project). I was wondering does anyone have any insight as to how these issues are related/ intergrated, and if there are issues with regards to virtual PM that would affect my Server descisions.
