W2K Setup, ntkrlmp.exe, error code 4

When trying to boot from a W2K Pro CD in order to reformat, repartition and reinstall W2K, I get the following error, in the initial blue dos screens,

file \i386\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded
the error code is 4

I then have to reboot and get the same message every time.

Why???????????????
