Web page looping

A friend of mine was relating to me the problem he’s had about being stuck in a web page loop, where window after window pops up when he tries to close the page.
I do hardware-phone support and am not that familiar with this problem.It happens alotto me too,but I don’t remember what it’s called and/or how to prevent it,if possible at all.
Anyone have any comments on this issue?
