What to do about NT detect?

I have a problem with my Dell Latitude CPI laptop, whereas when I start it and it boots up and I select the “Windows NT Workstation Version 4.00” it gives me a message that says “NTDETECT FAILED” after the message “NTDETECT 4.0 Checking Hardware…”.

What can I do to get my laptop to start windows?
