When 9x dies

Macroshaft has declared it is withdrawing support for 9x next year. Has anyone thought about keeping ‘copies’ of all the patches and updates issued so that if they need to rebuild a 9x after then, they will be able to install to the last update available? I am looking at obtaining or creating a CD but as yet I don’t know how best to implement. Any suggestions welcome.
Please don’t suggest should be on XP etc., as some people don’t want to waste world resources by throwing away computers just because they can’t run the latest version.
