When online “PC quits responding”

While online PC will quit responding often enough to be irritating; using AOL I have to cntrl-alt-delete which takes me off line and I have to dial up and log in again…what causes this? I have 128 RAM, 533 mhz cpu..seems as though it is happeningmore often than used to..
