Why device loader failed to load device?

Why does the device loader fail to load device’Existing Ndis2 Driver’ (code 2)
It loads and then shows up with a yellow !. Removing and reinstalling doesn’t help. This appears to be connected to installing a scanner and using same port as printer. Do not use printer at same time. Scanner does not scan.
