Why does my modem have no Interupt?

I bought a new computer, and it is imposible to get their tech support. I review the Diagnostics More Info and it passed, but does not have an interupt assigned to COM1. COM3 has an interupt, but no modem. Looking at my modem, it is setup to use COM1. How do I reconcile this in Win Me?
