why hdd partition is different?

by shanghai sam . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

insignificant as may be.I have a toy pent 1.

before fdisk,hdd was C:1, status A,pri dos,vol lable”x”, 2047mb,fat 16,100%. after fdisk,reset was to max 475mb.1572mb lost.how can this be restored?

Note this though!!!

so I proceeded to install;dos5,upgrade dos6,next to win 3.1,upgrade 95.put in office 97 pro, publisher 97,mcafee virus scan.

at this point all the space was definately used up.[drive c – properties, 0 used, 0 available]

so I continue to load winzip7, acdsee, adobe acrobat, ie5, + a few xtras.
allswell.

check to see disk space, I have 120mb freespace and 355mb used. this is weird. I often check disk space as a habit.
i checked again because of the strange noises the hard drive was making as I loaded more onto it.

any idea whats going on?
or
what I can do to retrieve the full 2.0 gig of space of this hdd?

thank you.
