My Win2K Professional used to startup relatively fast, but now it is really slow.
The slowdown is just before the logon screen, the point before it displays “Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to logon” (I set it to do that. That is normal.)
The status message says “Applying Security Policy…” and the system does some HD access that is in a pattern.
After a couple of minutes (3~5) (this step usually took at most 1 minute).
I checked the System Event Log and I get Event 2013, which states that “The C: disk is at or near capacity. You may need to delete some files. “.
Now, the funny thing is, my Win2K is on D:, not C:. Also, C: has 1.16 GB of 11.5 GB free. I have no virutal memory allocated to C:
What gives?
Thank you for your help.
