I had a customer bring me in a computer that was incredibly slow to respond. It took 2 full minutes for a right click to open the context menu on my computer. I decided to reinstall Win98. It would get all the way up to the detecting and setting up hardware part at the end and then…It would give a blue screen with a mouse pointer in the middle. I thought it might a hardware conflict so I pulled out everything except the video card. Nothing. I even changed the processor and memory, still nothing. I have tried reinstalling about 5 times now and I still get the same thing in safe and regular mode. If I press Ctrl-Alt-Del the only program in there is WMEXE. If I end task on this program and Ctrl-Alt-Del again the only thing in there is msgvr32.exe Not Responding. Any Suggestions?
