I reformatted a hard drive, loaded Win ’98 SE as a new OS install. I installed MS Office 2000, attached the machine to the Novell Network, upgraded to IE 6.0 and Outlook Express 6.0. The machine worked great. The user asked for two modifications. The first was to add “autosave” to Excel 2000. I did that. The second was to re-enable her “quick” keys on her Microsoft Internet Keyboard. I downloaded the IntelliType Pro keyboard software v. 2.11 from MS’s website and installed it. The computer now hangs at shutdown on the “Win ’98 is now shutting down” screen. The machine is a Dell V333c. Is there a conflict with the IntelliType software or AutoSave function and Win ’98SE?
