Window 2000 doesn’t recognize modem

Currently I have changed my PC operating system from Window M to Window 2000, which caused couple problems in my PC. First is the modem doesn’t work any more, then is the CD writer doesn’t play music anymore. I have downloaded the upgrade driver formodem, but couldn’t find out how to upgrade it. My modem is conexant softk 56 pci, how can I solve this problem?
