Windows 95 Bootup Failure

When booting up, the PC seems to be normal until it reaches the log name/password screen at which time it freezes. The only way I can boot normal is to reboot using the F% key to save mode, then shut the computer down. Then it will let me bootup normal. The next time I use the computer I have to go through the same procedure. Anyone that can help solve this problem? Thanks!
