WINDOWS 95 corruption?

When I reboot my PC, since about 8-1-00, all my Win95, MSOffice,MSIE5.0,Outlook express 5, Sound, screen saver and more settings revert to a New profile type settings. I recently saved my registry and re-imported it after rebooting which gave me my DUN settings, MSIE5 and OE5 but not MSOffice. Can anyone explain this phenomenon , why do I loose my registry? Is there a “save settings” switch that should be on and may have been set to off when IE5.0 was installed?
