Windows 95 does not recognize my sound c

Windows 95 will not detect my new I/O Magic sound card through plug and play. I have tried manually installing the hardware but this doesnt work either. Is this because the card is brand new and windows 95 doesnt support it?…. I/O Magic says it does…
