Windows Capture Printer Port Pains…

Am I the only person that has problems with Win98 loosing mapped printer ports? I have a few PC’s on the network that keep loosing LPT2 or LPT3. Normally all that has to be done is remap them and we’re good to go but why do I have this problem? LPT2 and LPT3 are mapped to the same printer but set up to print to different paper trays on a HPLJ 2100. Any ideas????
